Russ proclaimed:
I like Francis, but his backpeddling on pedophilia is disturbing. but let's be honest, it's also not suprising.
I have no idea what you're talking about but you do receive all your information from filtered fake news sources. There's been no backpeddling. He's just moving at normal Vatican speed when he ought to be moving quicker.

Russ proclaimed:
It seems as if his recent change of heart arose out of a sense of desperation.
There's been no change of heart. His policy wasn't known. Now it is. And it's moving in the right direction. The Catholic Church is far ahead of other creeds and government organizations in eliminating the plague of child molesting from institutions that historically are more interested in institutional protection than child protection.

Russ proclaimed:
The blowback from his sheep about his repeated bumbling has likely been felt at the collection plate.
Indeed. Legatus withheld its annual $1 million donation last year. Many other Catholics are doing the same. The Peter's Pence is a feedback tool. Presumably the liberals who hated the "fascist" Popes are giving more. I'd say it's a wash but I know it isn't. The "conservative" Catholics have advanced to seriously asking themselves the famous rhetorical question:

Russ proclaimed:
And why do you play semantics? The bill clearly represents your faith forcing their religious views onto others.
You shall not kill. We have lots of laws about that. You shall not steal. We have lots of laws about that. We're just forcing our faith onto everybody all over the place.

Russ proclaimed:
The bible is fine with abortion
Now this is just absurd. And Catholics are not sola scriptura Christians. We were Christians before the Bible was assembled. Any way, I'll paste it at the bottom for the tldrers.

Russ proclaimed:
and we both know it. Forcing your beliefs on others hasn't always resulted in the outcomes you'd hoped for.
Sound ominous. I'm reading it movie trailer announcer voice imaginary an End Game version with a sulking Thanos.

Russ proclaimed:
Anyway, the ACLU is taking it to court. It will be overturned, and in 2020 we're going to make the people behind this bill pay.
Ohio will likely lose if it goes to the Northern District but win if it goes to the Southern District. The 6th circuit is likely to rule for Ohio. I'm guessing that's the decision that will happen with Preterm. SCOTUS will resolve all these in 2020 or 2021. This may or may not be the case that gets the writ, but they're going to take up one of the cases for sure.

In 2020, you have no chance in Ohio. First off, we're gerrymandered out the wazoo here, and you know it. Second, you don't have the money. Third, this isn't a winning issue in Ohio.

Hillary dragged the party into abortion extremism in 2016 and Trump is going to win those swing states again for the same reason. Nationwide, Democrats are giving the kind of sensational TV sound bites that the Republicans will hammer repeatedly on those swing voters. Infanticide. You guys blew it. Touchey Joe is going down and he's the only candidate in the field who could even loosely be considered a moderate. You're going to have the pull that plank off the platofrm. Even your elder statesman Jimmy Carter and has been repeating that suggestion since 2012. 21 million votes at stake.
