It turns out I already did.

In the early weeks, a fetus is clearly nothing more than a multiplying clump of cells with human DNA. At some point during pregnancy, it is clearly a child in the womb. When this transition occurs is not precisely definable because the defining characteristics of the start and end states are themselves not precise and the transition from one to the other is gradual rather than sudden. This is a variant of the heap problem, something that philosophers have been struggling with for thousands of years, and so is one which you and I are unlikely to resolve on this forum.

As a matter of practicality, I'd advise you and your brethren not to force pro-choicers to define an artificially precise condition at which abortion becomes not okay, because I can assure you it won't be conception. Birth is unreasonable and unscientific, but no less so than conception.

Anyway, I should have known not to get into this argument with you, for two reasons: (1) neither of us is going to change his mind, and (2) almost literally the only time I ever think about abortion is during arguments with you. This is one of those political fights that I am happy to have no skin in.
