I'll bite. What are they doing that pisses off white men, in particular?

Or maybe the question should be rephrased as, why do white men stand in such contrast to the rest of the country?
I didn't say piss off, I said alienate, and I'm 1,000% correct. The Dems are knee deep into identity politics (though they aren't the only ones, as easily confirmed by numerous posts here). Tim Ryan (D Ohio) challenged Pelosi for Minority leader in 2016, yet he didn't even try to run this time. The dems identity politics is all about excluding white men. When Pelosi ran for Speaker her supporters used the hashtag #FiveWhiteMen to demean Pelosi’s opposition, particularly Ryan. The fact that her opposition was led by women, and included two Latinos is beside the point. It was about asserting their dominance, not engaging in well-reasoned discourse.

It's both sexist and racist, but that's fine because white men have become punching bags, and collateral damage regardless of their political affiliation.

You're so caught up in the political maelstrom manipulating your emotions that you didn't notice the winds of rage whipping through your hair, blinding you to the tragedy unfolding before your very eyes.

Trump is a lot of things: stupid as fuck, corrupt as fuck, and talks and tweets like an angry fucking toddler. He's a bigot, but more importantly, he's a fucking classist - always has been, and always will be.

While there are racists who support Trump, they are a minority (irony, eh?). Rural America elected Trump, and they are still his biggest demographic. Add to this the spike in suicides among this group. They're already dealing with significant issues, so calling them racists is extremely dangerous. This type of reckless rhetoric undermines your ultimate goal - to bring them to your side. I know a number of conservatives who were once Democrats, but their views were too centrist and they got tired of being the object of ridicule. They're still angry at how the Democratic party not only ignored them, but ostracized them.

White rural men didn't have a seat at the table of the Democratic Party in 2016, and they still don't today. Ignoring this won't make it go away. Equality is not what the Democratic Party is espousing, though they'd like us to believe otherwise. I like Pelosi, and I understand the animosity between the two parties, but as the Dems pull further to the left, they're shedding large segments of their base. If they don't address the white 500lb rural democratic elephant in the room, they had better begin working on a plan B. Their lack of foresight may inadvertently help Trump win a 2nd term.

Is that really what you want?
