I think we need a return to a system that focuses on state's rights, as was the original intent. This country is too large and culturally diverse to be centrally administered in the manner that it is today, something I believe Kyle has stated many times here as well?

The problem, for which I think there is no good solution, is that a con-con will be required to solve the issue and I don't think anyone believes right now that we can go into a con-con and come out more free. For certain we should not walk into a con-con "blind" and without a great deal of things theoretically hashed out in advance.

Asking the question: how often do divorces start out reasonably amicably then devolve into bitter conflict?
How each state would pick its attendees would be crucial.
Indeed - but considering that neither party can, except on rare occasion, put a decent candidate through a primary, I don't hold out a lot of hope that Americans in general are capable of selecting good representatives.

The federal government can best be summarized as follows: foxes rearranging deck chairs on a floating henhouse called the Titanic.
