Going in, I was dimly aware that some characters might not make it. Naturally, I assume that those characters at the end of their film contracts (e.g., Downey) or without standalone franchise value (Ruffalo, ScarJo, Cheadle, etc.) would die, and those who recently made a lot of money (Thor, Black Panther) would live.
I thought Iron Man or Captain America would die. Maybe Thor. The folks at the end of their contracts. They saved that for Avengers 4 apparently.

I enjoyed the movie. Not my favorite Marvel flick by a long shot, but certainly worthwhile. In other words, not nearly as good as The Avengers, but much better than Avengers: Age of Ultron.

My point is only that the Marvel Universe is not deep enough for me have much emotional investment. I am totally cool with that. I have been impressed with the franchise's level of quality overall, despite there being several crapfests. I just do not see myself ever weeping over a death like people apparently did with Spider-Man in this one.
