The Blue Wave should (for better or worse) give the Dems control of the House, Senate, and the White House in 2020. It would be ideal for moderates to take the lead, but with the Hippie Grandpa reselling 2016's failed dreams to a group who still didn't learn their lesson from 2016's hard failure, we may be in for a very long primary season, followed up with an agonizing November.

If Bernie gets the nod, he may actually beat Trump, but it will be a pyrrhic victory. Many local races, which should shift left, will likely remain entrenched in backwards thinking, 50s-era bigotry, with sides of hate, intolerance, and a dollop of white supremacy.

It will also likely kick into high gear the upcoming recession, which will then be blamed on the Dems, somehow undermining their viability for years to come. Optics are as crucial as facts, and far too many people haven't realized that yet.
